We’re looking for a highly skilled Account Manager with deep payments and acquiring experience, especially in high-risk sectors.
Based in Cyprus, you’ll serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of strategic merchants, driving growth through proactive account development and data-driven performance monitoring. This role is ideal for someone with a proven commercial mindset, technical payment infrastructure fluency, and the ability to align cross-functional stakeholders to deliver merchant success.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned merchants post-onboarding.
- Develop deep knowledge of each merchant’s business model, priorities, and challenges.
- Proactively identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities to increase merchant volume and product adoption.
- Monitor transaction trends, chargebacks, and processing limits to anticipate risks or growth blockers.
- Conduct regular account reviews and produce reporting for both merchants and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure SLAs are met in collaboration with operations and risk teams.
- Build strong internal relationships with sales, compliance, risk, and tech to support account growth.
- Provide feedback to product teams based on merchant requirements and pain points.
Mandatory requirements:
- Payments / Acquiring Experience:
- Proven experience in payments processing, acquiring, or merchant services — ideally within the high-risk sector (e.g. gambling, crypto, forex, adult).
- Account Management Expertise:
- Demonstrated success in managing commercial merchant relationships, with a track record of growing accounts through upselling, cross-selling, or strategic account development.
- Location:
- Based in Cyprus or willing to relocate. On-the-ground presence is essential to align with our Cyprus office growth strategy
Nice to have requirements:
- Can speak both Russian and English
- Technical Understanding of Payments: Strong familiarity with card schemes, processing flows, chargebacks, rolling reserves, and general payments infrastructure.
- Existing High-Risk Network: A network of relationships within the high-risk payments ecosystem (e.g., contacts at processors, PSPs, or relevant merchants).
- Data-Driven Approach: Experience in using data and reporting tools to monitor account performance, identify growth opportunities, and mitigate risks.
